GradGear is the trading name of Academic Dress Hire Limited. Academic Dress Hire Ltd (ADHL) is owned by Graduate Women Wellington Charitable Trust (GWWCT). The name that will appear on your statement will be GradGear.
All payments are processed via a secure payment gateway operated by BNZ called Windcave.
GradGear is proud to be associated with Windcave, New Zealand’s largest and most preferred payment gateway provider.
GradGear do not collect or store any credit card information. This information is all processed by Windcave. When making a purchase you will be directed to a secure webpage hosted by Windcave to enter your payment details. The Windcave hosted payments page is secured using SSL/TLS.
SSL (Secure Sockets Layer)/TLS is a method of ensuring that information submitted through your Web site is secure and cannot be accessed by unauthorized users. When a site offers an SSL/TLS-secured form, the information submitted via that form (typically credit card information) is encrypted using a special certificate key and then decrypted with another key after it has been transmitted. When users access a site secured with SSL/TLS using their browser, a symbol displays in their browser windows indicating that the site is secure. The hirer/purchaser agrees to pay Gradgear/ADHL the fee, and a bond if that applies, at the time the order is placed. Once payment is received and confirmed the order is reserved. All regalia must be collected and returned during the notified period unless negotiated otherwise.
When taking part in any graduation ceremony you must wear academic dress (regalia), which consists of a gown; a hood or stole lined with the colour attributed to your degree, diploma or certificate; and a trencher (Bachelor’s and Master’s) or Knox or Tudor Bonnet (PhD). A diploma or certificate graduand who holds a degree shall wear the regalia of that degree regardless of whether obtained at VUW or elsewhere (VUW Academic Dress Policy).
Where a graduand is gaining more than one qualification they wear the regalia for the degree being conferred at their chosen public graduation ceremony. Academic dress for additional qualifications can be hired for photogaphs.
Pricing is shown in New Zealand Dollars. New Zealand pricing includes GST (Goods and Services Tax) at 15% which is included within the price shown. Each customer shall be solely responsible for all postage courier charges, sales taxes, or other taxes, on orders shipped to another country.
We accept Visa and Mastercard. Credit Card Payments are processed through Windcave. Please note, your card information is not disclosed to any other party. Goods will only be reserved once full payment has been received.
Internet/online bank transfers are also accepted via 'Account2Account' (A2A). It is an online payment option you can use to safely pay for your GradGear products directly from your bank account.
Internet/online banking is a great payment option for those without a credit card. When you pay with A2A the transaction is completed within the security of your bank's online banking service. At no time will your personal banking details be disclosed to GradGear or A2A.
The A2A solution is hosted securely at Windcave.
Customers can pay by EFTPOS and cash payment only at our office during office open hours.
When you visit GradGear or send e-mails to us, you are communicating with us electronically. You consent to receive communications from us electronically. We will communicate with you by e-mail, text or by posting notices on this site. You agree that all agreements, notices, disclosures and other communications that we provide to you electronically satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing (GWWCT and ADHL Privacy Policy).
Once you place and pay for your order, you will get a receipt which will acknowledge your order and inform you of the collection and return times. You need to keep a copy of it digitally or print it out and bring it with you to collect your gear at the times listed on your receipt from Room 109, Murphy Building, 34 Kelburn Parade, Wellington 6012.
By accepting the Terms and Conditions you acknowledge that you have received the regalia in good condition.
If you wish to cancel your order please contact us via an enquiry on the website, by email or phone.
You are required to return items in good condition by the times detailed on your receipt. A $100 late return fee will be charged for any gear returned after the due date. If you damage or fail to return your garments you will be charged for the full replacement value and will be liable for any debt collection costs incurred.
A refund will be made at the discretion of ADHL for exceptional circumstances. An administration fee may be deducted.
A refund will be made if the order is cancelled up to one week before your ceremony. We will issue Credit to your account or Credit Card in NZ dollars. An administration fee will be deducted.
GradGear reserves the right to charge the hirer/buyer in full for any order cancelled within 48 hours of the ceremony.
Should any case beyond the control of ADHL, but not limited to any order of Government or other authority, strike, lockout, labour dispute, delays in transit, difficulty in procurring components, embargo, accident, emergency, earthquake, act of God or other contingency, interfere with the delivery by Academic Dress Hire Limited or with the performance of ADHL or any of its obligations under these Terms and Conditions, ADHL shall be entitled at its sole discretion to suspend its performance of any such obligation or to cancel and shall not be liable to the hirer/buyer in any respectg

If you use this site, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password and for restricting access to your computer, and you agree to accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account or password. GradGear and its affiliates reserve the right to refuse service, terminate accounts, remove or edit content, or cancel orders in their sole discretion.
GradGear and its affiliates respect the intellectual property of others. If you believe that your work has been copied in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, email us with your complaint.
The property that is available for hire or purchase is owned by ADHL or one of its affiliates.
All items hired from GradGear are made pursuant to a return contract. This means that the risk of loss and title for such items pass to you upon collection or our delivery to the carrier. You will be invoiced the late return fee/non-return fee or any additional costs associated with the return of the academic regalia in damaged condition. Debt collectors will be contacted if payment is not made within 20 working days.
GradGear and its affiliates attempt to be as accurate as possible. However, GradGear does not warrant that product descriptions, especially in terms of colour or other content of this site is accurate, complete, reliable, current, or error-free. If a product offered by GradGear itself is not as described, your sole remedy is to return it in unused condition.

Any dispute relating in any way to products you purchase through GradGear shall be submitted to confidential arbitration in Wellington, New Zealand, except that, to the extent you have in any manner violated or threatened to violate GradGear’s intellectual property rights,
